Bearer charged with Clarendon businessman's murder

The Half-Way Tree Police have arrested and charged a man in relation to the shooting death of Clarendon businessman 47-year-old John Brandon Murray of Clarendon Park.

Charged is 27-year-old Christopher Chambers otherwise called ‘Chris’, bearer of Waltham Park, Kingston 13. He has been charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Reports are that Sunday, June 10 about 4:45 p.m., Murray was walking on the compound of a hotel in the Corporate Area when he was pounced upon by unknown assailant or assailants who opened gunfire hitting him several times.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Chambers is scheduled to appear before the St Andrew Parish Court on September 5.

Two other persons are expected to be charged in relation to the murder.
