Ammunition found in Kingston SOE

One-hundred-and-ninety-six 9mm rounds of ammunition were seized in the State of Public Emergency when members of the joint forces conducted a vehicular check point operation at the intersection of Norman Lane and Spanish Town Road in Kingston 13 Monday morning.

Reports from the Hunts Bay Police are that about 9:15 a.m., the driver of a Toyota Coaster bus was signalled to stop.

The driver complied and the vehicle along with its occupants was searched. The ammunition was subsequently found in two boxes in a multi-coloured bag under one of the seats.

No one was taken into custody in connection with the seizure. Investigations continue.
