Hot summer days ahead

Summer has started and the heat is on June 21 marks the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. It is the longest day of the year.

The Meteorological Service says that June to August will be one of the hottest Jamaica has ever experienced.

According to the Meteorological Service, temperatures are trending towards been hotter than normal with fewer wet days. Jamaicans are being urged to brace for several hot days ahead.

Persons are advised to avoid being outside between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., have cool showers and baths, and drink plenty of water.
