Transport Authority wants bad operators reported

July 19, 2019

The Transport Authority is encouraging members of the public to report rogue operators of Public Passenger Vehicles.

It has called on the commuting public to submit videos and pictures of infractions being committed by operators of these vehicles to its WhatsApp number, (876) 551-8196, or to the Drive Safe Jamaica App, which can be downloaded in Google Play Store.

Earlier this week a video surfaced on social media showing a young woman screaming for her life as the driver of a taxi in which she was a passenger was involved in a high-speed chase with the police.

The taxi driver ignored her pleas to stop and let her out. The Transport Authority said there was a blatant abuse of the passenger's rights. It warned operators that its operations teams will be exercising a zero tolerance approach to such practices.
