Third Jamaican isolated, first patient tests negative for coronavirus

The Ministry of Health and Wellness says a third Jamaican has been put in isolation after arriving in the island on Tuesday, February 11.

The person reportedly had a fever.

"The next steps for this patient will include management of the fever and any other symptoms that develop. A sample has already been sent to CARPHA, where it will be tested for the novel coronavirus We expect a 48-hour turnaround time for the results once the sample is received," a release on the Ministry's official twitter page read.

Meanwhile, the Ministry said that the results for the first patient, who was placed in isolation, have come back negative for the novel Coronavirus (COVID19).

The results were received yesterday from the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention. The patient will now be discharged
