JPS reality TV show now taking entries
January 30, 2016
Last year JPS made history by airing the first-ever Energy Savings Reality TV Show, that taught customers how to save energy without sacrifice - the JPS PowerSmart Energy Challenge.
Season 2 is here, and aspiring contestants may submit entries from now until February 7, online at www.jpspowersmart.com. The highly anticipated show will be hosted by popular television personality Terri-Karelle Reid and will hit airwaves on TVJ come May.
The reality show will see six households competing for prizes from the JPS eStore, as well as the coveted grand prize of up to one million dollars in cash and prizes.
Households not just families comprising of three or more persons, with at least one adult member, may apply.
Last year's winner was the Hall Family from St Ann, which walked away with a million dollars in cash and prizes after pulling off a dramatic 70 per cent reduction in their energy consumption.
All other participants in the competition were treated to an array of gifts and cash awards.
JPS head of marketing, Tishan Lee explained, "we're thrilled to provide a fun way for our customers to receive the life-changing, energy-saving mentorship that was the hallmark of Season 1, along with more challenges and team engagement.
In addition to families, roommates and other groups of three or more persons living together, can now enter the competition.
"We believe this diversity will help to better represent the Jamaican household and keep our viewers and contestants fully engaged when the show airs in May."
