Young people flock

'East Badda Dan

'90s party'

It was called the 'East Badda Dan '90s Dancehall Party', but most of the patrons were young, a majority of them college students with no experience on the '90s dancehall scene, as they must have been toddlers.

But that did not stop them from enjoying themselves and dancing as they crammed the outside National Stadium venue and feasted on the many liquor and food available.

"Is a young people ting dis," one man said as he saw multiple circles of dancing guys and gals and plumes of fire shooting up to the sky. It seemed like a synchronised effort with orange flame alighting ecstatic faces, while the crowd railed with gun salutes at every turn of the disc. Entertainment was provided by Bishop Escobar and the Black Addiktion sound, both hailing from the east, along with well-known selector Supa Hype.

Here are some highlights from the party.
