Dancehall artiste Tifa's hot single, 'Big Bumpa', has earned her the top spot on one of St Lucia's most respected music charts.

The single, produced by Christopher Birch on the Moskato rhythm, is Tifa's first official hit for 2016. The artiste said that upon receiving the good news she was surprised, but that she somewhat expected it. "I knew the rhythm was doing well, especially internationally," Tifa told THE STAR, adding that she believes it will take over the Caribbean market soon.

While she believes Big Bumpa is a big hit, she admits that there is

competition.

"Yuh know Konshens has a song on that rhythm also, the two songs a run them one another hot, so anything can play," she admitted.

Tifa has described 2016 as her year because topping a chart in St Lucia is not her only recent success; the artiste recently made the playlist of BBC Radio One in the United Kingdom.

"I'm honoured, since I've never had a song at the top of BBC Radio One. I felt proud as a Jamaican and as a woman. It's always a awesome feeling when the hard work pays off," she said.

Tifa said she has singles in the making to connect with all her fans.

"Oh gosh, whole heap a singles coming. Yuh have Get With The Programme, Crazy and Side Chick Upgrade," she said.

The artiste also disclosed that Bugle has a single coming out with Busy Signal, Assassin, Dexta Daps and herself, among others.
