Flava Unit, an award-winning Portmore-based sound system, is celebrating its 12th year of existence.

To mark the anniversary, the sound system will have a free-entry celebration party at Ken's Wildflower Parking Lot in Bayside, Portmore, next Thursday.

"Another year of making strides, achieving and growing, the Flava Unit team continues to excel in the entertainment industry and has found a niche that will remain solid for years to come," said Flava Unit boss, Desmond 'Dessi' Reid.

He added that since inception, the sound is known for its mixing skills, high-energy selectors and a limitless musical catalogue which includes well-arranged dubplates by the biggest names in entertainment.

Flava Unit has provided the sound to enhance numerous parties and events in Jamaica and overseas.

"The challenges are there, but we have stayed focused and will be the same hardworking team that our fans love and will work even harder to maintain our usual high standards," said Dessi.

He promised fans that the anniversary party is going to be bigger and better and that this is usually the way to show appreciation to their fans, supporters, business associates, sponsors and friends.

This year's title sponsor, Rum Bar Rum, will be turning up the heat with premium sponsorship to enhance the celebrations.

The celebration party will hold its usual venue at Ken's Wildflower which over the years has become the home of Flava Unit's anniversary celebrations.

The event will have a star-studded line-up of dancehall's finest and all also high-calibre sound systems passing through.

Rum Bar will provide deals on all their products, along with prizes and surprises.
