Good vibes at Caesar's Army Mai Tai

Soca artiste Machel Montano's song 'Vibe Cyah Done' and dancehall artiste Assassin's 'Cyaah Lock Off Di Dance' would best describe the experience at Caesar's Army Mai Tai on Easter Monday.

Despite noise-control interventions by the police, nothing dampened the spirits of the enthusiastic soca-loving crowd of locals and foreigners enjoying Carnival in Jamaica.

Whenever the music got lower or took a temporary pause, patrons took over by singing aloud their favourite songs and creating their own beats.

Outside of those moments, the mix of DJs drawn from Jamaica, Trinidad, Barbados, and the United States had the crowd fully entertained.

With constantly flowing libations, freshly chopped coconuts, delicious food, and ample space on the lush lawns of Devon House to move around, there was no complaining - just partying!

Soca heavyweight Bunji Garlin gave an energetic performance filled with many of his biggest hits and punctuated by moments of freestyling.

The vibe went up when he called his wife and fellow soca artiste Fay-Ann Lyons to the stage. She gave the crowd a surprise performance packed with energy in the time allowed.

Before Fay-Ann's entry, fellow Trinidadian soca artiste Shal Marshall took centre stage and did not disappoint. Female patrons, especially, took to his performance, getting on bad when he performed his 2017 hit, Dip.
