Chekca creating buzz with 'My Everything'
Chekca is pleased with the attention his latest single, My Everything, is receiving and the buzz the song is creating since it was premiered on social media late last night.
The Florida-based reggae singer and songwriter, who hails from Claremont in St Ann, has been recording professionally since he was 20.
The singer, who has a knack for writing about personal experiences and social topics, chose to express his gratitude in My Everything to his partner for always standing by him.
"You know, in life, we take for granted what our partners do for us, and so, I decided to express my gratitude to my queen for being there with me and for me on my journey. I know many can relate to what the song is saying, so I recorded it not just for me, but for everyone who is thankful for what others do for them in both good and bad times," says Chekca.
My Everything has been receiving airplay on traditional and Internet radio stations in Jamaica, other Caribbean islands and in the United States.
The singer, who was influenced by reggae greats such as Bob Marley, Dennis Brown and Lucky Dube, said one of his goals is to become a household name in Jamaica. He has also been featured on entertainment blogs in the Caribbean.
"I have been doing music a long time and want this one to be a hit," he said. Chekca is gearing up to release a music video for My Everything.
He is also working on his third album, which is expected later this year or in early 2019.
