Reggae artiste Little Hero is looking to re-emerge on the local scene with his latest release, 'Head Gone'.

The singer, who is dubbed by many as one of Jamaica's most potent stage performers, last created a buzz on the local music scene in 2013 with the release of his album, The Oracle. The singer tried at a comeback last year when he released a song speaking out against gender-based violence. The song enjoyed some amount of success, but was not the hit the artiste expected.

Head Gone, which was produced by Inspire Music, speaks of the country's continuous battle with crime. It encourages Jamaicans to not let criminals, whose 'heads are gone', to take control of the country.

This time around, however, the entertainer is hoping things will be different, particularly because of the feedback he has been receiving from not just listeners, but key players in the industry.

"The street a talk again and the big man dem in the industry a link me and a say, 'Hero, yuh find another hit'," he said.

"But to be honest, from me record the song, I had a gut feeling that the people would love this one because it is reality, and it is very catchy as well."

The single is currently enjoying mainstream radio rotation, and with that, the singer and his team are looking to boost promotion and popularity by releasing the accompanying music video in a matter of days. The video was recently shot by director/publicist Karl Durrant and according to him, the visuals are expected to bring "something special.

"A lot of work went into this video, and while I will not give away too much of the concept, the video marries music and sport, while using the combination to foster peace in a violent community," Durrant said. "It will be something special, so just look out for it."

The artiste is known for hits such as God Alone, Prayer, Inna Di Ghetto and No More War.
