Reggae crooners create medley video

Three of Jamaica's well-loved and most distinct voices in the roots reggae space have aligned energies to create a medley video for the Nice & Easy rhythm, released on the Oneness Records label.

Luciano, Iba Mahr and Chezidek inscribe the instrumental, which is a sonic escapade in itself, with their signature sounds, in a way that is fun and fresh.

The visuals they've released for the songs are powerful, and portray familiar Jamaicans doing and being their best.

All the songs on the rhythm selection and the official video, which already has more than 20, 000 views, are streaming on YouTube and are available via most major digital distributors.

Festival queen coronations continue this weekend

The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) is inviting members of the public to support the 2018 Miss Jamaica Festival Queen competition, which continue this weekend.

Winners at the parish level will vie for the national crown at the coronation show scheduled to take place in Kingston on Emancipation Day, August 1.

On Saturday, June 9, parish coronations will take place at St Mary's Anglican Church Hall, Port Maria, St Mary and Colonel's Cove, Morant Bay, St Thomas, beginning at 8 p.m., while on Sunday, June 10, a competition will be held at Louise Bennett Garden Theatre, 36 Hope Road, Kingston, beginning at 7 p.m.

The St Ann, St James, Portland and St Catherine competitions have already taken place.
