Ricman ready to 'guh hard' for the girls
Dancehall artiste Ricman is generating a buzz in the world of dancehall with a raunchy single, 'Guh Hard'.
"It ah the song that ah run road for me right now inna the streets. It ah get a lot of play from selectors like Hotta Rice, Ruxie and Boom Boom dem, and anytime it drop inna the dance, the gal dem get wild," he said.
Ricman, whose given name is Ricardo Powell, released a video for the project two months ago which received rotation on local cable channels.
He has also been promoting other singles such as Time is Now, which racked up over 30,000 views in only one month.
He will be in Jamaica later this month to perform on a show dubbed 'Tease', which will feature Star Boyz and recording star Hood Celebritty.
"I am going to be dropping a number of singles this summer," he said.
Those singles include There She Goes for MS Entertainment and Only Gal Alone for indie label Chase Mills Records.
Born in Content Gap, St Andrew, he attended the Content Gap All-Age School before migrating at age 14 to live in London, England.
As a 17 years old, he recorded his first single, a collaboration with Spanner Banner called Wreath and Roses that did well in the charts in England and European ethnic reggae charts.
He then began using the moniker 'Ricky Sprakett'.
He returned to Jamaica soon after and linked up with producer Arthur Wale of Free Willy Records, and then recorded songs with Ninja Man, Devonte, Baby Chris, Vybz Kartel and others, establishing himself in the industry.
