Romain Virgo joins World Cup excitement
The wait is over, as the football season has officially begun. With the excitement surrounding the FIFA World Cup in Russia expected to build over the next four weeks, telecommunications giant Flow has got in on the action and is not leaving out its customers.
This Sunday, as Brazil face Switzerland, Flow will be hosting a huge football party at the Buckfield football field in St Ann. The day of activities is set to get under way at 1 p.m. with the TVJ's 'World Cup' watch event. Reggae crooner Romain Virgo is scheduled to give a performance on the day, while the six-a-side competitions are expected to bring additional entertainment.
This will be the second of several activities set to take place across rural town centres and communities all over the island as part of the Flow Ball & Blaze Road Tour. The first will take place today in Ocho Rios, where spectators will get to watch Portugal play Spain via a big screen in the town's centre at 1 p.m.
Kim Lee, head of retail & TV marketing at Flow, in a release sent to THE WEEKEND STAR, said that the company is "all in" as broadcast sponsors of the TVJ 2018 FIFA World Cup.
"We are pulling out all the stops to ensure that our customers and all Jamaicans can enjoy the 'greatest show on earth' in fine style. This spans our broadcast sponsorship with the number one national broadcaster, TVJ, to provide world-class coverage, special bundled packages and now, an exciting community series that will make the highly anticipated event even more special in several rural areas across the island," she said.
"Together, we will show more football in more areas of Jamaica than was ever previously possible."
