Jay-5Flow shifts focus to Jamaica
Dancehall recording artiste Omar Forsythe, more popularly known by his moniker 'Jay-5Flow', has been working assiduously on becoming a household name in Jamaica.
He has managed to carve out his own niche internationally and has been creating waves overseas in recent years.
Jay-5Flow has worked with a myriad of international acts, including Foxy Brown, Ky-Mani Marley, Beenie Man, Gyptian, Warrior King, Konshens and Kranium.
The burgeoning star credits Spragga Benz as one of his mentors under whose tutelage he toured extensively, honing his craft in the process.
Speaking with The STAR about the presence he has built internationally, Jay-5Flow said he wanted to spread his wings and establish his talent on a wider scale.
Now that he has done that, he will turn his focus to the local market once more.
"They say a king is never crowned in his own country, so that's why we have to go out there as ambassadors and do it internationally and let the people see our capabilities," he said, pointing out that despite his international achievements, he also wants to make an indelible mark in Jamaica. "As a Jamaican, it is very important to remain grounded to my roots, hence, going forward, I will be placing a lot of emphasis on the local and regional markets."
The Jamaica-born, California-based artiste is steadily broadening his network of local industry players and is gearing up to unleash an aggressive promotional campaign around his latest effort, Me Doh Play, produced by Big Zim Records.
He is set to release the official visuals soon.
