After what she dubs as an impressive showing at the recently concluded Beenie Man Summer Sizzle, up-and-coming female deejay Destiny Sparta said she is ready for her seat among the hottest female entertainers around the dancehall table.

She told THE STAR that she was happy with the forward she received at Summer Sizzle, and said she believes the reception is a sign that the Jamaican audience is ready for a new face and a new voice among dancehall's leading ladies.

"People are ready to see what the other female talent in the industry has to offer and I'm ready to show them. Females are often undermined in music, and I've been doing this for a minute now and I'm more hungry than ever and more ready to make my mark," said Sparta,s who hails from MoBay. "MoBay has been producing some great artistes who are dominating the industry right now; Tommy Lee, Teejay, Rygin King, and now it's time for a female to step out and dominate."

She said she is grateful for the opportunity she got at Summer Sizzle and commended Beenie Man for bringing the show back.

"A one a di greatest things him (Beenie Man) could do for dancehall right now. I'm sure all the artistes are happy about this (the show starting again). Platforms like these are necessary, especially for people trying at a spot at the top, like myself. It gives us the exposure we need to get ourselves out there on a larger scale," she said.

Destiny Sparta performed on stage with Tommy Lee and others, delivering songs such as Real Bad Gyal, Work It Work It with Renee 6:30, Mechanic and Some Gyal Doh Have No Bed.
