Having carved a brand for himself in his home country, popular Mexican reggae artiste Jah Fabio wants to broaden his horizons, and, believes Jamaica is the perfect place to start.

Having made his Reggae Sumfest debut last month, the artiste said he believes the Jamaican audience is open to welcoming a new face and a new voice in the industry.

"My experience was something unforgettable. I was nervous but at the same time excited to achieve something that I really never dreamed of," he said as he reminisced on his Sumfest performance. "The Jamaican public is very difficult, but I was very good, and the public enjoyed the show. The next day, some people stopped me on the street telling me that they liked my show and congratulated me. Imagine for me what that is. I'm in the place where the genre was born, and people were congratulating me and saying they value my work. That was something incredible."

Jah Fabio said he is now looking forward to releasing his album Di Mexican. He said the compilation will show that he's not just an artiste looking for a 'buss', but one with actual talent.

He lists Gyptian, Pamputtae and Savage as some of the artistes he's worked with on the project and said people should expect good music that everyone can relate to when the project drops in October.

The album is being produced by Doni Music Production and Tekktroniic Muziq.

He is currently promoting the single Ghetto Youths Affi Rise, the video for which was shot in Montego Bay and Ocho Rios.
