Anticipation surrounding the return of the Gargamel, Buju Banton is reaching fever pitch. Following the start of the official countdown to his release, the Instagram account for the artiste has announced a tour to be undertaken by the entertainer next summer.

There is very little information surrounding the tour, which has been dubbed the 'Long Walk To Freedom' tour. In addition, no specific date has been given, and they are yet to announce the tour stops.

The lack of information, however, did not stop fans and fellow musicians alike from getting excited about the tour. Several artistes including Beenie Man, Razor B and Ce'Cile took to the incarcerated deejay's official Instagram page to express anxiety about the tour. Even Member of Parliament Dr Dayton Campbell commented on the post, pointing out that he could not wait for the deejay to come home.

THE STAR understands that several entertainers have already been approached about being guest artistes on different legs of the tour. We are, however, still in the dark about who those artistes are. Numerous artistes including Beres Hammond have expressed an interest in performing with Banton when he gets released.

Banton is expected to be released on December 8, and as the day draws closer, everyone is waiting with baited breaths to hear where and when the artiste's first official performance will be. Although he has a show already confirmed for Trinidad and Tobago in the spring of next year, rumours are that the entertainer will make his debut as a free man on home soil, as his first official show is expected to be in Jamaica.

Buju Banton, whose real name is Mark Myrie, is currently serving out the last few months of his 10-year prison sentence for drug trafficking.
