Fast-rising reggae artiste Ras Chibuzo believes his new single, Holding Firm, will do well locally and internationally.

The Troyton Music production was officially released last Friday.

"The song has been getting some really good reviews and mi thankful and happy for that. The song has been getting a lot of buzz from the local radio stations," he said. "It is a song that everybody loves because it is so relatable; it is a day-to-day experience in life."

Ras Chibuzo, whose given name is Sanjay Bissick, seeks to uplift and entertain with his music positively.

Hailing from Linstead, St Catherine, Ras Chibuzo, from a very young age, developed his passion for reggae music.

Inspired by his uncle, who is a reggae producer, Ras Chibuzo's love for music began growing over the years, composing songs that reflect day-to-day situations, historical happenings, and predominantly proclaiming the views of Rastafari.

He was also influenced by reggae artistes like Lutan Fyah, Sizzla Kalonji and Anthony B.

Mentored by Lutan Fyah as his major influence, Ras Chibuzo's professionalism began to grow as an uprising reggae act, co-writing songs and doing backup vocals for Lutan.

Much advice was also given by Rashaun 'Kush' McAnuff, who is a reggae drummer from the Uprising roots band, and Troy Hinds, reggae Billboard producer from Troyton Music.

Fans of Ras Chibuzo can also look out for the accompanying music videos for Holding Firm.
