Ruach Ru makes a splash with 'Mr Player Man'

Reggae singer Ruach Ru is causing quite a stir with the release of the stimulating visuals for her latest promotional effort, 'Mr Player Man'. Based off of a personal experience, the song is about a woman who is in a relationship with a man who, as the title suggests, is a player.

"The thing is she knows he is a player, but she still misses him and wishes he was there, even though she knows he is out with another woman," the singer said as she explained the track.

Self-produced on the singer's Tyde Jam Records label, Mr Player Man was preceded by the soulful track Watering I. The video made its way to her fans via YouTube at the end of August, and has since premiered on various local and international TV platforms.

The project has been doing well since its February release, receiving spins in countries across the US, Canada, the UK, the Caribbean and Africa. So far, it has earned her Best New Artiste on the UK-based CeeBee Multimedia, a feat that the singer is very proud of.

"I am about the message. I am about speaking truth and real life experiences. That is what defines me and ultimately my music," she said.

Meanwhile, she is also promoting two new songs Sunshine and Hold Strong. Both tracks were released on September 4.
