Tristan Tulloch, more popularly known on the entertainment circuit as ‘Touch of Blue’ from Cheap Mondayz, says the event is back to its regular schedule following the termination of the state of public emergency (SOE). The event is held at 185 Spanish Town Road in Kingston.

He told THE STAR that the event had been suffering from a lack of support over the past few months because the area was being heavily monitored by law enforcers.

Tulloch said that despite there not being any incidents of violence in the area for the past few months, regular patrons have been sceptical about coming out.

Now that the SOE has been lifted and he has been given the go-ahead to return to his regular 2 a.m. lock-off time, he is hoping patrons will start coming out again.

“Because of the state of emergency I guess people thought there was some limitation to the party also, but nothing had changed except that we had to shut off the party at an earlier time than usual,“ he said. “The support since the whole state of emergency has been marginal. People still are hesitant about coming out, with what was going on with the ZOSOs (zone of special operations) and so on. But we had gone back to our usual time from Christmas Eve, and we just want people to know that the event is up and running again and they should just come out and have fun.”

Tulloch said that he and his team will be pulling out all the stops at the weekly event to get attendance back to where it was a few months ago.

He said that he plans to win back his audience through weekly giveaways and that the annual birthday treat is still on.

“We’ve always had our birthday thing going, where if one of our regular patrons was having a birthday on that Monday night, we would treat them to cake and drinks. We still have that. We will also be giving away phone cards and cash prizes every week just to lift the vibes and get people coming out again,” he said.

He also urged patrons to come out early, pointing out that he does not want to violate the law by continuing the party beyond the stipulated time.
