For years, Ricky Benz has been making his name known in parts of Europe, and now he wants to get recognition for his recent project.

In April, the Sweden-based singjay released his latest album, From Downtown To Uptown, via Ants Nest Production/Hights Production.

The 10-track album that was produced by Kemar Brown has songs like Heaven Sent, Sexy Wine and Passion.

"This is a collection of songs that I hope persons will find favour with. We worked to get this project off the ground because we had a demand for it. Now that it has been released, we plan on touring Europe to get the word out," Ricky Benz said.

Having made Sweden is home, Ricky Benz explained that he tours regularly to capitalise on reggae's growing acceptance in Europe.

"I have performed in Finland, Italy, France, Switzerland, and other countries in Europe each year. I go to Finland basically every year because I have a strong fan base there," he said.

Ricky Benz, whose given name is Ricardo Tracey, grew up in Greenwich Town, Kingston. He relocated to Sweden about 10 years ago.

He has worked with local and overseas producers since he began pursuing music professionally in 2001.
