Dancehall singjay Gevano is generating heat in the streets for his unofficial single, Hold Mi Lane, on Red Boom's popular Lifestyle rhythm.

Based on the street buzz and online response, the talented St Catherine native believes he may have to seek permission to record the song officially on the label.

"The response has been great; people love it and ah say it would be great if I could get permission to record the song officially, because I had just done a song on the riddim as a freestyle on an upcoming summer mixtape, and it leak and just tek off," said the artiste, whose given name is Gevionnie Hyatt.

In the meantime, the singer is pushing the video for his song Touch, which was released on the Super100 Entertainment label in January.

"The video is now playing on FLOW, HYPE and RE TV, and I am getting some good feedback in the Caribbean and Africa on the video," Gevano said.

Gevano realised that he had a gift for music while attending Rosemount All-Age, where he performed for his classmates at school concerts.

At age 16, he began to frequent local recording studios, honing his talent. He then followed up with songs like Party Straight, In The Streets, and Mama.

These songs were part of his debut EP, Miss Hyacinth's Son, which was released in 2015.

On the strength of these songs, he has performed at shows such as Reggae Camp Fire, Eastlaw Talent Show, I-Octane's Different Page, and Mango Fest.

Now, he is looking to push things to a new level. He recently completed an eight-track EP, which will be released by Zojak Worldwide in the fall of 2019.
