Razor B launches Bak Up challenge

Dancehall artiste Razor B has officially launched his 'Bak Up' challenge for the festive season.

The challenge will see dancers from across the globe creating a dance move for his brand new single Bak Up Gyal to have the winner or winners take home $500 Canadian.

Razor sees this as an opportunity to give something back to his supporters for the holidays and also a unique way to create a dance move for the new single.

"Every dancer wants to create a dance move because my songs always push out dancers to the world. For the Bak Up Gyal song, I decided to make it exciting and make it a competition. Fans will get to be a part of choosing the best dance step to this fast paced single also," Razor said

Female fans and professional dancers alike are invited to post videos of themselves showcasing a dance routine to the new single.

They must also tag @therealrazorb while using the hashtags #razorb #therealrazorb or #bakupgyal.

Razor B will repost these videos on his Instagram page and the video that gets the most likes or comments will win.

Videos must be posted between December 5 and December 20th. The winner will be announced on December 23 yet already females from around the world have started tagging the artiste in videos with the song on Instagram.

"We will be announcing the winners right before Christmas so they can have a little extra spending money for the holiday. The winning dance move will be the official dance move for the song for 2020. I'm looking forward to seeing the creativity," Razor B said.

Big year for DeeWunn

Jamaican-born MC DeeWunn's single Back It Up, Drop It, which was released in March, has received major placement as it was used by Samsung, Fanta Pop and gaming giant EA's Need For Speed: Heat production.

The record garnered the attention of various mainstream platforms including KCRW's Top Tune Podcast, while landing regular rotation on England's BBC radio.

"I am thankful for the direction my career is headed in. After my Canadian tour ended earlier this year, I took a needed break from the public eye including social platforms, interviews, and stayed busy recording and preparing for a major release fin 2020," said DeeWunn.

In late 2018, the artiste signed with indie-label Waxploitation, and he has since been in the studio working on his EP, which is expected to be released early next year.

The EP will have six songs and will be a follow-up to his Bunx Up album.

"Expect to hear a new sound crossed with the familiarity of what you know of DeeWunn so far. I aim for riddims that you can beat at the gym, in the clubs or in your car. My music sees no boundaries or genre - but I represent for dancehall," he said.
