Toni-Ann Singh – Miss Jamaica World 2019.

W hen the Miss World competition gets under way on Saturday, Jamaica will already have a place in the top 40.

Toni-Ann Singh, Jamaica’s representative in the international beauty pageant, yesterday secured her spot in the final 40 after winning the talent competition.

The announcement was made via the official Miss Jamaica World instagram page.

The St Thomas native is a women’s studies and psychology student at Florida State University.

Last week she was featured on the official instagram page for Miss World, singing a rendition of Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing.

It is believed the latter is the same song she sang in the competition, keeping her opponents at bay with some strong vocals. She beat out the queens from Armenia, Malta, British Virgin Islands and Canada for the fast-track title.

Her win has caused support for her to surge to new heights with a former Miss World contestant Terri-Karelle Reid already hand-picking her as the one to walk away with the crown.

“If dat girl don’t bring home the crown, me a go have a personal issue with Miss World. I just want to take this opportunity to say my girl, I knew you could do it, you did it. You landed talent and I just wanna wish you all the best,” Reid said in a post to her IG stories. “

The finals of the Miss World competition will be held on Saturday at the Excel Arena in London.

The highly anticipated show will be broadcast globally to more than 150 countries.
