In just over a month, the highly anticipated Beach Road Trip (BRT) weekend will make its Jamaican debut.

Set for March 13 to 15, the three-day, all-inclusive party series is expected to soar to new heights as organisers develop an entertainment package they deem will be simply irresistible.

"We've always been getting calls about bringing the event to Jamaica but we purposely avoided it all these years because our event was to show people different parts of the world, while still giving them that Jamaican party vibe," said Hans Mullings, creator and organiser of BRT Weekend. "But we can't skip over anymore. We've been getting so many phone calls, so many texts, we knew it was the right time. Jamaica is hands down one of the best party places in the whole world. I've been to a lot of countries for parties but none is quite like Jamaica. There's just something about our spirit as a people, our vibe, everything that makes us stand out when it comes to entertainment."

BRT events have been held in the Florida Keys, Miami, Palm Springs, Los Angeles, Atlantic City, Dominican Republic, and the Turks and Caicos.

Well aware that bringing the event to Jamaica means he and his team have to bring their 'A' game, Mullings said he's already finalised who will be performing over the Spring Break weekend.

"This year we will be having a BRT favourite on the line-up. Shenseea has been absolutely phenomenal over the years and we're glad to have her back, particularly in front of her home crowd. We also have from the 6ix camp, Chronic Law and Daddy1, and they are two of the hottest, young artistes in music right now," he said. "We will also be bringing in a soca monarch, Mr Killa. And if anyone knows Mr Killa, he's crazy on stage."

Mullings also said that with dancehall music being a staple at BRT, he has contracted some of the hottest local selectors to take control of the consoles.

"Chromatic, Coppershot, Platinum Kids and Dutty Dex are the four main deejays we work with, but we have Jazzy T, DJ Cruise and so many more on the bill this year. It's going to be ridiculous," he said.

Mullings said that more than 2,000 tickets have already been sold and he is targeting some 5,000 patrons for the events to be held in Ochi Rios, St Ann.

"Someone from the Jamaica Tourist Board needs to get in touch with me because when this is done, so many would have benefited from this," he laughed. "I'm bringing new people here that, in addition to partying, they want to experience the culture. They want to go to Dunn's River Falls, they're going to the craft markets. They're going to be doing so much more."
