Alkaline New Rules to return to National Stadium - Manager says entertainer is excited about performance

When the inaugural staging of Alkaline's concert series New Rules was held back in 2017, it attracted a huge crowd at the National Stadium.

At the time, the Champion Boy deejay had not graced a stage on local soil in three years. His Jamaican appearances since then have been few and far apart.

But come April 25, the 'man himself' will return to the venue for the second staging of New Rules where he is expected to deliver another ground-breaking performance.

In an interview with THE STAR, Alkaline's manager and sister, Kareena Beckford, said the deejay is anticipating his performance.

"Alkaline is looking forward to performing for his fans. It's going to be epic," she said.

Although remaining tight-lipped about who would be joining the entertainer as supporting acts on the show, Beckford says the event will offer one of the most brilliant line-ups in stage show history.

"The line-up will be released in the coming weeks but I can tell you now that it will be diverse so it's going to be a great show," he said.

The announcement that the show would be returning to the National Stadium was revealed on the weekend.

But sometime last week when it was first announced, the venue was set for the Police Officers' Club.

Beckford told THE STAR that based on the anticipation, it was best to take

the event back to its home.

"We wanted to offer our patrons the best and highest possible level of experience and we felt that the National Stadium is the best place for us to be," she said pointing out that this year security has been increased a hundred fold. "We will be inside the stadium this time around and so we will be better able to fully secure the area. Patrons can expect guaranteed security. We will be working along with the officers to ensure that all perimeters are secured as our patrons' safety is our number one priority."

Addressing the stampede that occurred at the last staging, Beckford says that in addition to the security being provided by officers from the Jamaica Constabulary Force, her team has contracted the assistance of private security firms.

She wants to assure patrons that the team has been putting all measures in place to ensure a repeat situation does not occur.
