Reggae artiste Dillgin said that he believes his latest track, ' My Life', will be the song that opens him up to new audiences in the entertainment industry. In an interview with THE STAR, the artiste said that although the song was released late 2019, its presence has increased in the last few weeks as the COVID-19 lockdown has caused more people to pay attention to songs they wouldn't normally give a chance.

The whole coronavirus thing came up and kinda slowed down street promotion, but it opened another door for the song in terms of airplay," he said. "The radio stations all over the world a play the song right now, plus it's out on all streaming platforms so people can access it. And due to the situation and what is going on right now with everybody being home, the song has been playing a lot. I can see the numbers and it's really been going on good. The bloggers dem tune in and the Internet a gwaan. We using everything to promote the song and keep it in rotation as long as possible."

He explained that My Life was inspired by people who go through hard times and prevail.

"So dem a praise God and a give thanks because dem survive and dem happy. It was not based on the whole corona thing, but because me always a make song weh speak to times like these, it just happens that it suitable. So everything about the song is attractive. You can play this song anywhere for anybody; young and old," he said.

As a producer, Dillgin has worked with the likes of Capleton, Beenie Man and Sizzla. He is now looking to cement his place in music even further by pursuing a solo career.

"I've been in the music business for a long time as a producer, working with different artistes, and this is the song weh me really think a guh do it for me as an artiste," he said. "This song has been doing very good from it come out, and me know it very special. So it's gonna do great things for me.
