Controversial selector Foota Hype is adamant that comments made by him during an Instagram Live session yesterday afternoon were not directed at anyone specific.

In the session, Foota Hype said that as God's anointed, anyone who rises up against him will always be punished by his ancestors.

With a recent feud between him and dancehall artiste Intence still fresh on people's minds, social media quickly assumed tthat he selector was talking about Intence, especially since he mentioned car crashes as one means of 'punishment'.

Intence was involved in a motor vehicle accident the day before.

"More a unu a go crash, more a unu a go dead, more a unu a go suffer, and dat is not a wish. Dat is a fact," Foota Hype said during the session. "Things weh happen a nuh our fault, innu. The ancestors dem out, man. When yuh rise against the Lord's anointed, yah go feel the pressure. We just grateful say him nuh dead cuz the ancestors dem never choose fi him dead. All a di fans dem affi just give thanks say the ancestors dem lift up dem hand, innu, and say , 'Arite, we nah kill yuh, we just a warn yuh'."

But Foota Hype told THE STAR that the statement was meant to be general.

"I wasn't addressing Intence. A nuh one person crash. Jah Cure crash, Intence crash, a lot of people crash. One bus crash a MoBay today (yesterday). My live was no way about that guy. I was talking about life in general," he said. "Certain energy bring certain results. Mi say it pan the live to say there is a reaction for every action. It's life lessons, but people tend to not realise that."

Try derail my work

He added: "Yuh can't see an ambassador for God Almighty working and try fi derail that. The universe is going to react. Anybody weh try derail my work weh me send fi do, the universe a go react. And is not just me. Whichever messenger working for the Almighty and yuh try derail him, there is a defence mechanism set up to move oppressors and oppression because the mission shall continue."

And as if wanting it to be clear what that mission is, Foota Hype said he would continue to speak out against sexual immorality, especially within the dancehall fraternity.

"We a di only nation weh have the 'God realm'. Dancehall and reggae is based off God Almighty, but the imagery wrong. The message dem a portray right now wrong, and if dem nuh switch, trouble a go deh deh," he said.

Shelly Ann Curran, who handles bookings for Intence, said that the artiste is doing well and is looking forward to being out and about once more, especially with entertainment being given the green light for a phased reopening.

She says that the artiste's focus right now is solely on bookings and did not comment on the Foota Hype situation.
