It’s going to be electric - Bogdanovich says Sumfest energy will be crazy

Downsound Entertainment CEO Joe Bogdanovich has promised viewers that they will be blown away when they see the production of Reggae Sumfest this year.

The festival is being staged virtually this year due to the novel coronavirus, and Bogdanovich said that although fans will be getting a 'taste of Reggae Sumfest', the show will definitely satisfy performance-starved music lovers.

"Friday night is going to be electric. It's Dancehall Night so you know the energy is going to be crazy. All the artistes are coming ready to give their all, because whether we are at Catherine Hall or not, this is Reggae Sumfest and we always deliver the highest level of entertainment," he said.

The virtual production will be streamed on the Facebook: @Musicians aka Music On Facebook in partnership with Facebook, as well as on Reggae Sumfest's Facebook, Instagram and YouTube pages.

The likes of Daddy 1, Chronic Law, Agent Sasco, the Romeich Entertainment team of TeeJay, Shenseea, and Ding Dong, are among the stars who Bogdanovich said will be putting on an unforgettable show tonight.

"We also have Ishawna on the line-up for the first time in a number of years and she's going to bring it. We've done a few rehearsals with the artistes, and I think everyone is going to be so pleased when they see what we have in store," he said.

Tarrus Riley, Sizzla, Koffee, Gyptian, Freddie McGregor and Maxi Priest are booked to perform on Saturday night.

Reggae Sumfest, which attracts patrons yearly, was forced to abort plans for its annual week of festival in Montego Bay, St James, due to COVID-19.

"This has been a really rough year for all of us. None of us could have imagined something like this," the Downsound boss said.

Having taken the decision to cancel the in-person show, Bogdanovich said he and his team "knew we still had to do something to give our loyal supporters something and I'm glad we could pull this off".

"We wanted to give people something that will keep them entertained and occupied, and we hope this will keep them satisfied until we can meet again at Catherine Hall," Bogdanovich said.
