With more than two decades of experience in the music industry, the iconic reggae duo of Tanto Metro and Devonte is showing no signs of slowing down. Having released their fifth studio album, Reggaenometrist, last year, the duo has now followed up with the release of a new single, Nah Fren.

Devonte told THE WEEKEND STAR that they have been getting a lot of positive feedback since the release of the song.

"It's the first track from what will be our next album, and so far, the support has us feeling very good about the project. We don't have all the details to give on the album as yet because we're still working on it, but it's going to be the standard that you're used to from us. Good music, positive energy, and real vibes. The fans are going to love it," Devonte said.

Tanto Metro said that they have been strategic in their release of projects, arguing that it is important not to bombard the people with too much content in a short time. He says that way, listeners will get ample time to appreciate the content. "New music is in the pipeline and we're looking forward to releasing them, but we've been in this business for over 20 years, and we know that good music will last, so we're in no rush at this time. We're working on the album and doing everything we can to perfect it. Of course we will be releasing more singles from the project, and that way, people can get a feel of what to expect when we do drop it," Tanto Metro said.

Little attention

The veteran entertainer said that he and Devonte have been using the COVID-19 lockdown period to focus on creating more music. He said that as internationally renowned artistes, he and Devonte's tour schedules are usually hectic, and so the writing and recording process usually gets little attention.

"It (COVID-19) stop us from doing a lot of work overseas, but it don't stop us from literally going into the studio and making songs and link up and write and hold a vibes. We coulda still do we thing, and so we got a lot more time to focus on the music, and the people will see and hear that very soon," he said.

Devonte told THE WEEKEND STAR that when things get up and running in the entertainment industry again, their fans will have a lot to look forward to. In the meantime, he says they can keep engaged through the virtual realm. The pair is slated to perform at festival night one of this year's virtual staging of Reggae Sumfest.
