Macka Diamond has announced that she has an OnlyFans account.

She joins the likes of fellow female dancehall artistes Shauna Controlla, D'Angel and Ishawna, who said that the platform was an alternative medium to Instagram where her content would, oftentimes, be blocked or reported for its provocative nature.

Despite the stigma associated with OnlyFans, Macka Diamond's reasons for creating an account on the controversial website were entirely focused on promoting her music and expanding her market.

"First of all, it is not a porn site. Individuals who utilise OnlyFans decide how extreme they want to get. In doing my research, I realised the platform provided an avenue for persons within the music industry, locally and internationally, like Cardi B and Safaree, and especially in these times, to earn during the COVID-19 with exclusive content, and I have exclusive content," she told THE STAR.

Macka Diamond further explained that her exclusive content is not sexually explicit regardless of what persons may believe, based on recent rumours.

"It is a place to sell our product, that is music, and it is moving in a direction where a lot of artistes will need to get with it soon," Macka Diamond said, pointing out that not everyone will be pleased with her joining the site but that she is not concerned with negative comments.

Tongues were sent wagging about the veteran dancehall artiste when rumours of a sex tape circulated on social media two weeks ago which forced her to go on a vulgar tirade defending herself. Macka Diamond said that she has been the victim of online harassment by social media personality Pretti Don, who claims to know intimate details about her sexual relationships.

Sexually explicit things

This week she premiered a diss track directed at Pretti Don titled Dog Don, which can be viewed on her OnlyFans page for a monthly subscription.

"If people were to talk truth you will find it is not about sexually explicit things and I am not there to compete with anybody; people who want to show their support have even tipped me since I joined," she said. "The diss track is doing well so far as real fans are subscribing and supporting the music. If Pretti Don should answer me, which I hope she does, I am prepared to respond, it depends on the vibes I am in. I expect the negative comments about me joining the site but I've had naysayers my entire career so I can deal with any backlash."

Other exclusive content Macka Diamond says she will be sharing to her elite subscribers on OnlyFans include behind-the-scenes media from video shoots, studio sessions and activities that persons would not normally be privy to on a daily basis.

The artiste is currently on a promotional tour in the US for her new single Pink Pearl, recorded on the Pink rhythm. The official music video for the single should premiere this month.
