Walter Boyd is one of the most prolific football players that Jamaica has produced.

The former Reggae Boy donned the national colours 66 times, scoring 19 goals 1991-2001. Although he's no longer in the spotlight, he is still remembered by many local football fans for his dazzling playing style and goalscoring exploits. He was also part of the Reggae Boyz 1998 World Cup squad.

Two budding deejays, Flow Lyrical and Iya Wata, have teamed up with Trench Town-based producer Orville Stoddart to pay tribute to Boyd with the release of a single titled Walter Move.

Stoddart says the idea for the song was sparked by a discussion that he had with a group of friends about Boyd's career.

"Walter Boyd was certainly one of Jamaica's finest strikers. One day I was talking with a group of friends about his playing days, and the idea for the song popped into my head. So I called up Flow Lyrical and Iya Wata and we wrote and recorded the song," he said. "Walter Boyd loves the song. There's a viral video going around which shows him doing the 'Walter Move' dance. The dance was created by a dancer called Bucky Marshall and me."

Iyata Wata says he's happy that he was able to lend his voice to the project.

"I feel good to be a part of this project because I respect Walter Boyd big time. Although he's a legend, anyone can walk up to him in the community and talk to him. He always has a positive word of encouragement for everyone," he said. Flow Lyrical also expressed his elation, saying that Boyd is a great inspiration to him.

"I hope one day to be as great as he was on the football field in the world of music," said the artiste.
