After mostly working with up-and-coming artistes, producer Trouble Don is now looking to spread his wings, and recently teamed up with diamond-selling artiste Charly Black.

"As a young up-and-coming producer, I got the opportunity to work with an artiste of Charly Black's calibre and I seized it with both hands. It's a great feeling knowing the hard work you have put in is being recognised by huge names in the industry. Hopefully, this project will do so well, it opens even more doors," he said. "My aim in this industry is to be remembered as a person who creates great dancehall and reggae content and with each project, I'm getting better at my craft."

Trouble Don, given name Matthew Ashley, was born in Cayman, but grew up in Portmore, St Catherine, where he was exposed to music on a large scale. He used to sneak out to watch artistes at stage shows and fell in love with music and decided to pursue it as a career. His genesis was in artiste management but soon shifted to music production. Today, he is the CEO of Trouble Don Entertainment LLC. He admits that working with artistes can be hard if you don't stay focused and know exactly what you want.

"But I am getting to build relationships with the artistes and their teams every day and that can only spell good for me. The more relationships I build, the more work I get done. The more work I get done, the better my reputation and catalogue in this industry," he shared. "Music never dies so it's never too late to try and build a name for yourself in this industry."

He and Charly Black have partnered on the track, Call Upon You which is slated to be released on August 27.

"Hopefully, it does great numbers and sell gold or diamond. Working with Charly Black and Team Unstoppable has been a great experience and I just want the song to go as far as possible," he said. Trouble Don is also gearing up to release a juggling compilation rhythm.
