Laa Lee and Flyght want to ‘Move’ negative energy

Dancehall artistes Laa Lee and Flyght have told naysayers to 'move' all defeatist behaviours.

"The track (titled Move) wid me and Laa Lee is about something both of us were experiencing. People were coming at us with negative energy and all different kind of thing to throw us off our game. This song was us moving certain things outta we way and just cutting and clearing our path and going forward," said Flyght. "Laa Lee a family, he's like my brother so working with him on a song like this was great. Memba say di two a we a come from the stage weh we did under the same management so we have a real friendship. Because of that, everything for this song came naturally, the lyrics flowed and the energy was just right."

THEME SONG

There was speculation that the two had a recent falling out after Flyght was drafted to re-do the theme song for the show Balla that Laa Lee had previously recorded.

"If people a speculate say there is a beef between me and Laa Lee, a must cook we cook piece a beef but we never put we friendship at stake. Sometime unu can't listen to everything unnu hear inna de media," said Flyght. Laa Lee said there could never be any beef.

"Things happen and people get upset and release dem emotions but there is absolutely no ill feeling. He's my bredren, a good friend, someone who is like a brother," he said.

Laa Lee indicated that he jumped at the chance to help his 'musical sibling' gain even more notoriety in dancehall.

"This is my second collab with Flyght but this one is the most successful and I am so happy for him. He's a talented artiste, him bad bad, and as a friend who is out there more, I'm all about helping him gain the fame, gain momentum and be out there like me," he said.

The synergy seems to be working as Move is currently the number 18 trending song on local YouTube charts. The track, which was released on August 13, has amassed more than 125,000 views.

"Being on the trending list is a wonderful feeling. A me say bigger and better things so right now yuh probably soon see the song inna top 10 or close to number one because we a put in the work. Mi nuh think me wah done wid trending just yet," said Flyght.
