Future Fambo excited at collab with Amara La Negra
Veteran dancehall artiste Future Fambo is in a happy mood and singing Toa Toa, which is the title of the single he is featured on with singer and Love & Hip-Hop: Miami star, Amara La Negra.
Additionally, he is elated that three songs from his Rebirth EP have been released.
"I am really excited about all that is happening for me now," Future Fambo told THE STAR.
"We did a video for Toa Toa about two months ago and that was also a great moment for me," he added.
The collab with the popular reality TV star, who is an Afro-Latina of Dominican descent, is set to fling open doors for him in the Spanish market.
"How this collab came about is that my team knows Cruz Rock, who produced the song. I met Amara La Negra on set at the video shoot in Miami and her energy is good. Although I am featured on the track, I hadn't met her and she sent for me when she was having her make-up done and the vibes were good. She loves Jamaica. It was just a brother and sister vibes. She followed me on Instagram and, of course, I followed her back," Future Fambo shared.
The artiste is now in the US promoting his Reblah Star-produced EP, but he emphasised that he is not performing there at this time. The songs just released from Rebirth are Soprano Montana, Be With Me and Lifestyle.
"Now that some places are opening up, events are looking better for next year and I have all my paperwork in the system. My focus now is promoting and putting in the work recording. As an artiste, it is important to keep moving towards things that are positive, stay current, update your bio, always have new pictures and do music that lasts," he advised.
Future Fambo launched his career in the mid 90s using the name Future Troubles, and first had a hit with his song, Kung Fu, released on Courtney Cole's Roof International label. Further singles were released on Shocking Vibes, Digital-B, Ghetto Youth Productions and Freddie McGregor's Big Ship.
In 2010, he collaborated with Beenie Man on the hit single, Rum & Red Bull and in August 2016, he released the album, Evolve: The Uprise, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart.
