He's known for creating 'Dirt', arguably the hottest dance move for 2021, but Tyreke Dirtt wants to also make his name known in music.

The 16-year-old will be premiering new music at his 'Dirt Rave' birthday event on April 16 at H2 in Portmore, St Catherine.

While his peers like Ding Dong, Chi Ching Ching, Queen Nikki and Renee Sixthirty are known for making the transition from dancing to recording music, the 'Dirt Boss' says music was always on his agenda.

"For sure, from about primary school [Naggo Head Primary School], we were always in class knocking on tables. So doing music is natural for me," he told THE STAR.

He made his music debut in August with Dirt Dem produced by Well Done Music. The visuals got more than 300,000 views. But the Bridgeport High School student took a music hiatus thereafter to balance his meteoric fame and his studies.

Now with a manager, Lemarco 'Prime' Robinson, he said he is in a better position to balance his roles, paving the way for his upcoming music.

The tracks Whip Dem and Life Story were produced by Robinson and will first be heard by patrons at the party.

"I'm going to be making songs for my own dances, so Whip Dem is for a dance I have by the same name," he said. "I wrote it myself and I'm hoping for great feedback because it's very good music."

Life Story, he shared, shows a different side of him, evident when he teased some of the chorus which shares his dreams of being richer than businessman Bill Gates, saving his money and giving back.

"It's a song explaining to people where I would want to be, say, the next five years from now," he said.

As for his career as a dancer, Tyreke Dirtt admitted that he does feel pressure to outdo the success of his Dirt dance, but added "Sometimes I just speak with friends about it and they help me to cope."

It was his friends who also encouraged him to have a birthday party, his first ever. The event will feature performances from artistes, including Laa Lee, Renegade, Sassy Diva, and several dancers, including Desha Ravers, Dancing Rebel and Pata Skeng. DJs Boom Boom, Harry Hype and DJ Vibez will be playing tunes. The event will also mark the debut of his Dirtt merchandise.
