Superstar rapper Nicki Minaj excited Caribbean fans after posting a video of herself lip-syncing to Skeng's single Street Cred on Sunday.

The track, produced by DiTruth Records in 2021, reiterates the concept of maintaing one's grimy street cred and having an ever-ready circle, something Minaj has rapped about in her own music. Co-producer Shacko DiTruth saw the video in the wee hours of the morning courtesy of a friend, and shared his reaction with THE STAR.

"I feel great fi know seh a Nicki dat and Nicki dem global," Shacko DiTruth said. "She a play Skeng is a good look, no joke."

Minaj further tagged the meteoric deejay in her post, driving his supporters to the comments, asking her to do a remix of the song. Minaj hopped on a remix of Skillibeng's Crocodile Teeth hit late last year. Shacko DiTruth said he and his collaborator, Buddah DiTruth, are not opposed to a remix.

"But we also a look forward to doing new work, new collaborations same way with Skeng and Nicki, different rhythm and everything. We're open to a collab still fi a remix to Street Cred if that's the case, but we'd really would like to do fresh work," he said.

DiTruth Records has history with some of the current big names in dancehall, from Skeng to Jahshii. Shacko DiTruth said the label was officially launched a little over two years ago with the release of Skeng's second record Place Get Busy. But the two go way back.

"We've been a work together from before music," he said. "But when we start music, long before we did even known by anybody at all, mi and the dog been a do music together, so, it's like as Skeng grow, we grow too," he said.

After making the Street Cred rhythm last year, he sent it to Skeng, who then wrote the title track at the studio. Other artistes on the rhythm include Jahshii, IWaata and Bayka, who earned his spot through winning the label's online competition. He beat out more than 100 entrants.

DiTruth Records is now gearing up to release London by Skeng, coinciding with his current UK tour with Govana.
