The sweet sounds of recording artiste Voice permeated the National Stadium last Thursday during Xodus Tailgate.

The Trinidadian soca artiste 'overdelivered' on his performance, leaving patrons wanting more. He teased fans with some of his famous hits, such as Long Live Soca, Out and Bad, and Fire Guh Bun Dem. He ordered patrons to "wave", "jump" and "get on bad" in his 25-minute set. Shania Ford was pleased with Voice's performance which, for her, is always impactful.

"Voice's performance was the best part of the night and I really enjoyed his performance; it's always good watching him perform," she said.

In true Tailgate style, 'tailgaters' poured into the venue in their numbers, some in pairs and some in groups with their open-back vehicles, grills and coolers. Cups went high in the air to the musical selections of Travis World, Brush 1 The Road Marshall, Selectah Renegade, Major Penny, Nocturnal Sound and others who lit the stage ablaze with the most intense soca beats.

The animated vibe did not cool off until the wee hours of the morning, and even then revellers did not want to leave the venue.

Delivering on their promise to throw a magnificent event, Managing Director of Dream Entertainment, co-owners of Xodus, Scott Dunn, said he was pleased with the turnout.

"I think from where I stand, the numbers are better than predicted. Carnival 2023 is the grand return of the festival in Jamaica, and we are glad we had the opportunity to do so with a bang ...," he shared.
