‘Retro Vybz’ rhythm brings authentic dancehall sound
Heavyunit Productions' 'Retro Vybz' rhythm is taking listeners back to the old days with its authentic sound and infectious beat.
The project was officially released on April 7 and features artistes Singdi, Hazard Poshgad and the producer himself, Corden Barrett.
"This project showcases the old-school dancehall music. The first track by Singdi, War Mi, speaks about violence against women and humanity at large. The second song, Get My Own, speaks to the go-getters, the hustlers going for their dreams and goals no matter where they are from or who they are. The third track, Stop It, talks about the begging culture especially in Jamaica; the artiste Hazard Poshgad wants to see it stop," Barrett highlighted.
Originally created in 1995, the rhythm was dormant while other productions were continued, but has finally been released, and is already receiving rave reviews and positive feedback.
"My hope for this project is that it gets a fair chance to be heard and touch lives with each message that the songs bring. There is so much to share and I just want to build a fan base and share great music and leave my mark in history," Barrett said.
