The Lady of Dancehall, D'Angel, is a woman on a mission as she boldly makes a plea for peace and the healing of the nation through her recently released song Pray For Love.

"Jamaica needs healing and there is no better way to do it than through music," declared D'Angel, who is choosing her words of wisdom carefully.

Describing herself as "one of the advocates for change", the mother of a teenage son expressed concern about the crime and violence that is taking place, particularly in schools.

"My reason for writing Pray For Love is as a result of upsurge of violence in schools and among the children in Jamaica. It is acting out in front of our very eyes. Our island needs healing and I know it can start from the message in the music," the Stronger singer said, as she urged her colleagues to help make a change.

"The onus is on each individual to take a stand or not. As an artiste and mother, I believe my voice can be an advocate for change. Outside of the fact that I have a 16-year-old son, I'm very passionate about world peace. A lot of things I see [where people] resort to violence could be talked over. So it's very important to show love and settle disputes without causing harm or hurt to anyone. Some things which result in loss of lives could be avoided."

The entertainer, whose career spans more than two decades, emphasised that "it's important to show love and empathy because sometimes if you put your foot in someone else's shoe, I'm sure you would want the same".

Released nearly one week ago, Pray For Love was produced by Jervis Clarke and shows the soft side of the Gud Gyal singer, who bemoans the lack of love through her lyrics and begs " Lord give us hope".

Giving an update on her own career, D'Angel, who took time to give thanks for life and pop her own collar on the great job that she is doing as her own management team, outlined that she has an upcoming summer tour of the US.

"It is titled The Dream Tour and starts July 2. I'm planning on taking this worldwide. I'm always in the studio creating new, fresh relatable music so you can look out for new songs always. My EP is also finalising. Get ready, world, you will be in for a musical treat," she said.
