Live Wyya drummer wants Bolt album

Arnaldo Bolt feels the best tribute to honour the eight-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt is a dynamic album featuring Jamaica's finest entertainers.

"It is all good to erect bronze-plated statues and murals all over Jamaica, have highways and bypasses named in Usain's honour, but in addition, let us consider music," said Arnaldo, drummer for the internationally acclaimed Live Wyya band.

The drummer, who claims to be a cousin of the sprint legend, reasoned that music is an integral part of Bolt's life and the heartbeat of Jamaicans all over the world.

"Like Marley's music, which continues to pull visitors to Jamaica, so, too, will this album attract the world at the feet of Jamaica," he said.

Usain, widely considered to be the greatest sprinter of all time, is the world record holder in the 100 metres and 200 metres. Arnaldo believes that its high time a cadre of entertainers collaborate to produce an awe-inspiring Usain Bolt album.

"Let us think of veterans like Beres Hammond, Shaggy, Sean Paul and others, including Marcia Griffiths, Etana and Rising Star kings like Short Boss, Romaine Virgo and Christopher Martin," he said.

"We should be looking at performance videos, such as the unforgettable We are The World, which brought together the likes of Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Dionne Warwick and Lionel Richie in our very homes," he said.

The song, conceived by Harry Belafonte, was written by Lionel Ritchie and Michael Jackson to raise money for an African famine relief.

Arnaldo reasoned that a Bolt musical tribute will help to inspire this and other generations to strive for excellence in whatever they do.
