Though he envisioned a life in the Jamaica Constabulary Force, fate had other plans for Romaine Souden.

A Portland native, life took him to Florida where he entered the world of mechanical engineering. Still, as someone who describes himself as a natural entertainer, Souden could not shake his passion for music, and in 2019 decided to pursue music on a professional level.

Souden revealed that although he is a fresh act on the music scene, he has big intentions and is looking forward to achieving greatness on every level. Making true on a promise to work hard to make a name for himself, Souden recently teamed up with renowned producer Troyton for the single, You A My Queen. The track, which was released on October 7, has been featured on BET Jams, making Souden very proud.

"Not getting a chance to work with different producers as a young act in this business has made my journey in the industry very challenging. That's why I am so grateful Troyton gave me the opportunity to showcase my talent, and now the world is getting to know Souden through my song, which was featured on BET Jams," he said. "I tend to bring a lot of positive energy to the table, and so people will hear that coming out in my music. You A My Queen shows off what I am about as an entertainer. I want people to feel good when they hear my songs, especially the ladies, and so that song was dedicated to them and it came from a special place."

Souden, who lists Burna Boy, Justin Bieber and Rihanna among his international music inspirations, said he wants to take his music to the highest level possible. For him, crossing over is a long-term goal.

"I am in this to go the distance. I want to be a global name, that's why I work hard at this and I give it my all. Right now, with my song having been picked up by BET Jams, I am looking to capitalise by working on my stage craft especially. I want to make sure that in addition to the recordings, I have performance 'on lock' as well," he said.
