Xtreme Fest organisers think big
The promoters of the recent staging of Xtreme Fest are hoping to tap into the lucrative tourism market.
Michael Kerwin of Xtreme Fest Ja said, "One of our main objectives is to bring tourists to Jamaica for this event, and at the same time, we want to provide jobs for Jamaicans at our various events."
Xtreme Fest saw events such as Dancehall Invasion, Xtreme Wet N Wild Pool Party and City Nights. Kerwin and his business partners, Sameer Channan and Junior Greaves, have years of experience in event promotion and felt the need to add another festival to the events calendar in Kingston.
"Most of the biggest festivals take place in Ocho Rios, Montego Bay and Negril and now we have one in Kingston. For our first year, we are simply amazed. The energy and the vibe the whole week was great, and we can't wait for 2024 to make this bigger and better than ever," said Channan.
Hilltop Records and Twisted Entertainment are co-promoters of Xtreme Fest.
Some of the artistes who performed at Xtreme Fest included Bounty Killer, Tommy Lee Sparta, Kraff, RajahWild, 10Tik, Renee 630, Supa Hype, Big Zeekz, and Skeng.
