Dancehall artiste Phabian has high hopes that his single Back to School will provide his breakthrough moment in mainstream music.

"This song urges the youth to aim to become anyone they want to be from among a sample group inclusive of a lawyer, doctor, actor, teacher, contractor, to jobs such as driving a trailer or a tractor; just good honest vocations. I just want to encourage young people to seek out positive routes to success in life," he said.

He recently shot a video, which was directed by Nirvana Studio, and released it on YouTube to rave, heartwarming reviews. The video was shot at Half-Way Tree Primary School in St Andrew, to drive home the importance of students staying focused in school in search of their career goals.

"Big up to Half-Way Tree Primary, which gave us the platform to do the video showcasing this important appeal to the youngsters in general," said the artiste, whose given name is Fabian Robinson.

Phabian said he likes to use strong, clean messaging "with a reflective focus" in his songs and stays far from disrespectful content. He hails from the Seaview Gardens community and has been developing a fan base across the globe, including significant pockets in countries like Nigeria and Zimbabwe in Africa, in parts of Asia, and South and Central America. The song is also generating interest in major markets like the UK, the USA and Canada.

"We are getting a lot of encouragement and a lot of energy from a growing fan base internationally. So I am pleased that my career is on an upward trajectory," he said.
