Jamaica-born Canada-based rapper and singer, Jubbi Don, is keeping her fingers crossed that her dreams of performing on Sting will become a reality this year.

"Sting is the ultimate show, which has helped to promote several artistes to reach stardom. It is also the show that introduces the hottest fashion for the coming year, and one that accommodates the excitement which comes with high-energy performance," Jubbi Don said.

Dubbed the greatest one-night reggae and dancehall show on earth, Sting will be held at JamWorld in Portmore, St Catherine, on December 26. The show will mark its 40th anniversary this year, and Isaiah Laing, its founder, said 10 giants will hit the stage as Sting celebrates the milestone.

An up-and-coming artiste, Jubbi Don recently performed at the Skeng Invasion held in Edmonton, Canada. She can't wait to get her chance to hit the Sting stage.

"I have been thinking about Sting for a number of years now and such an opportunity would give me the opportunity to show patrons just how versatile Jubbi Don is on stage," she said.

The dancehall artiste is convinced that she has enough songs in her arsenal that could satisfy the curiosity of music lovers. She points to songs such as Know Mi Worth, Rate Me, Sofa and Light In the Dark, which she said have been well-received whenever they are performed.

"A number of persons keep saying, Jubbi, you have a global look with rap styles of Nicki Minaj, and a deejaying pattern similar to Jamaicans Shenseea and Spice," she said.

The entertainer, whose given name is Shemona Prince, was born in Montego Bay but left Jamaica at age eight to join her parents in Canada.

"I started recording in my early 20s and released my first song, Know Mi Worth," she said.
