Ever since he was a child growing up in Baseda Walk in Westmoreland, Christmas has always held a special place in Patcha Blacks' heart.

"I love Christmas because it's a time of joy and togetherness with friends and family. That's the way it was for me growing up as a child, because my parents would do everything to make sure our family and our other loved ones had a fun time at Christmas. Now that I am an adult, I do the same for my family," said the artiste.

The Canada-based reggae/dancehall singjay recently released a Christmas reggae single titled A Mi Santa.

"This song is about my childhood memories of Christmas. When I was little, there were always presents under the Christmas tree. Our parents led us to believe that Santa Claus brought the presents, but, as we grew older, we realised that they were the ones who put the presents under the tree. So, in my heart, they were the real Santa. That's why the opening line of the song says, ' A mi mommy and mi daddy a mi Santa'," he said.

The song, which was produced by Smoke Shop Studio and PB Records, was released on December 1. Since then, it has been enjoying heavy rotation in several territories, including Africa, Canada, Jamaica, the US, and the UK.

"I am very happy with the response that this song is receiving. It's getting a lot of support from deejays all over the world, especially in Africa," he said.

Some of Patcha Blacks' other songs are Something To Tell You, Magnet To Steel, and Get Ahead In Life.
