Proteyn gets personal on ‘A She Date Me’

Reggae artiste Proteyn is not afraid to use his personal life as inspiration for his music, which led to the creation of his latest song, Ah She Date Me.

"My wife is always accusing me of cheating on her. Whenever she checks my phone and sees a female's name who she doesn't know, that's the time she goes crazy. Whenever I hang out with females, she likes to always remind me that she is the one who brought me to the United States. So I put her action in my song, with the lines ' A she date me, over me, she going crazy'. Ah my life dat!" he said, laughing.

The single was officially released in November on a five-song EP titled Reality. Among the tracks is Bloodshed, which deals with the psychological effects of the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war.

"I have a lot of things to say, a lot of topics to address, so look out for more great music in 2024," he said.
