Ikaya scores an anthem for the ladies with ‘Insecure’

Singer Ikaya has always used her voice to champion the rights of the underprivileged, as well as to raise awareness of issues affecting others.

On her latest single, Insecure, Ikaya represents for the females.

" Insecure speaks about women who go above and beyond to please the masses, living above their means to show off on their peers and for the Instagram. The song is to let women know, do not be envious /badmind nuh gyal fi dem lifestyle, 'cause wi nuh know weh dem do fi get it. It also celebrates women who are strong and who stand for morals -- independent women who work hard to achieve their goals, while prioritising and don't think they have to do certain things to get ahead in life," Ikaya disclosed.

She added, "The song is also coming from a personal space where I was body-shamed because of my weight gain, and I wanted to use this song make people feel confident within themselves, and for them to not allow people to project their insecurities on others.

Several women have commented positively about the song on social media.

" Insecure is the ladies' anthem right now which is also trending on TikTok. I've had fans say they are happy I did a topic on this because the lyrics are pure facts. These are real issues that everyone can relate to," said Ikaya.
